Those who have been regulars on this forum community know that Dr. Alan Feller's reputation truly precedes him and my recent visit to his clinic. A quick search for "Feller" on this forum using the "Find" feature brings up dozens of posts and photos from his very satisfied patients.

Dr. Feller has also been an active long time member of this community and offers his opinions straight up with no sugar coating. I admire his willingness to not duck controversy and call a "spade a spade" on and offline. He is a true advocate for ultra refined grafting and optimal patient results. He is also an elite member of the Coalition of Independent Hair Restoration Physicians. To view his profile visit http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/Consult-a-Physician/Doctors.asp?DrID=59

Given the many impressive and ultra refined results of his shown on this forum over the years, seeing a great surgery at Dr. Feller's clinic came as no surprise. It simply confirmed what we have come to know online – that Dr. Feller and his staff perform world-class ultra refined follicular unit hair transplantation.

He also performs follicular unit extraction (FUE) and was one of the early innovators of this minimally invasive hair transplant procedure. However, he does not over sell its benefits and believes that patients needing over 500 grafts are best advised to do strip surgery.

While he used running sutures in the past, Dr. Feller now uses staples because he believes it minimizes potential scarring or stretching in the donor area. In his opinion, stitches tend to bind and constrict the scalp tissue.

Dr. Feller has a great bedside manner and sense of humor. He is also a straight shooter and calls it like he sees it during his consultations.

I had the opportunity to see an excellent 2,484 grafts ultra refined session (1,105 singles and 1,379 two and three hair grafts) on the day of my visit as well as see the patient from the day before who had a 3,762 graft session (1,806 singles and 1,956 two and three hair grafts).

Both patients received ultra refined and impressive results, as we would expect after viewing Dr. Feller's patient photos online in recent years.

Pat,

Great stuff once again. Everything looks as awesome as usual with Dr. Fellers work. Two things:

1. Where is the photo of you next to his Ferrari?

2. Is he getting a little thin on top? We could point him in direction of some good docs!

Great pics--- good to know that a great doc is willing to share all his work.

The work looks almost identical to Dr. Hasson's, which is a testament to Dr. Feller's willingness to learn, adapt and apply techniques from one of the best.

I am sure it was a great visit Pat,

Great Job,
J

Hey guys,

Just curious how Dr. Feller gets such great results using a pair of scissors to make the incisions?? LOL

Is it standard procedure not to exceed three hairs in a graft?

Spoon,

I have noticed that trend with several of the top docs. Dr. Rahal, H&W also make no mention of 4 hair grafts?

NervousNelly,

Dr Feller clamps different size blades with the particular type of scissors you see in the pictures to allow flexibility in the design stage ;-)

FYI the doc drives an old Ford not a Ferrari ;-)

Pat glad you got to meet a UK patient - I spoke to him yesterday and he sends his regards!

Pat,

From the pictures, it looks like you two had a great time. Did he get to ride in Hair Force One? Now THAT would be saying something Wink.

These pictures are impressive...but this is far from a surprise when it comes to Dr. Feller's work.

Over the years, his clinic and patients have posted many impressive results.

No wonder Feller Medical is one of the top leading hair transplant clinics in the world.
