In my opinion Dr. DeVroye has worked very hard over the past ten years to create a world class hair transplant clinic that provides truly ultra refined follicular unit grafting. He has paid his dues also by visiting leading clinics around the world and attending the major international hair meetings.

I had the honor of watching Dr. DeVroye perform two ultra refined follicular unit procedures over two days, and viewing patients on a third day. I was very impressed at all stages of the procedure. It simply doesn’t get any better any where. The photo highlights from this May 2007 visit are shown below - Note the photos are of both a session with a man and the female patient from the following day.

His website at http://www.hairtransplantsurgery.com also provides a wealth of great information in multiple languages, including immediate post op photos and examples of his trichophytic closure.

Having seen him perform surgery and discussed the finer details of his surgery I believe that Dr. DeVroye is both an artist and a skilled hair transplant surgeon. He strives for perfection and it shows in his staff, the procedure and in the final patient results.

His procedure is one of the most minimally invasive, refined and clean procedures that I have every seen. His staff also seems to share his enthusiasm and commitment to excellence. They work together as a team harmoniously and their all microscopic graft cutting and placing are second to none in my opinion.

Additional Notes - Dr. DeVroye also performs FUE sessions of up to 1,000 grafts in one day. However, he feels that strip surgery offers most patients the best value with more dense results.

He also highly recommends that his patients use minoxidil after surgery to assure the highest graft survival and growth, while minimizing shock fallout.

Dr. DeVroye has been recommended on the Hair Transplant Network for several years now. His profile/recommendation is at http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/Consult-a-Physician/Doctors.asp?DrID=34

Pat,

Are the 3075 FU grafts from a single strip session? If so...Is this doctor being considered for the coalition?

Thanks for providing information about the clinic. The work looks good IMO.

More comments:

A question for anyone: Has the below statement ever really been substantiated in any way scientifically?

"He also highly recommends that his patients use minoxidil after surgery to assure the highest graft survival and growth, while minimizing shock fallout."

I've heard a few doctors claim this, but have yet to see any hard evidence that this really helps.

Falc,

Our long lost buddy Cousin It informed me of a study that indeed did substantiate claims of limited shockloss with the use of minoxidil after surgery. It was actually quite a dramatic difference. In fact there was a hell of a lot less fallout of transplanted FU. I will try to find the old e-mail.

That looks very clean. And it seems from the pics that most of the slits are sagital?

NN,

Do you still talk to Cousin It? If so, tell him I said hello. Hope he comes around here again sometime.

Yes, please post anything you have on the topic. I think it would make for a good read.
