6 years, 3 sessions, and still happy:) by Jotronic (created on )Gallery | Comments

Alright fellas,

It's been six years since I first held my breath and hopped in the chair for Dr. Wong and his team for the first round of repair work. While I'd rather not throw out a bunch of cliche's about confidence I can say that my life is a whole lot better since. In fact, since my first session, I can confidently say I'm a new man.

For those of you that are familiar with my story and my website, www.hairtransplantmentor.com, you know I'm not afraid to show it all. I showed pics of myself at 5 a.m. fresh out of bed, cruising Lake Union in my boat in Seattle with a cold beer ( or maybe nine), and all kinds of pics outside, etc. Well, here's another first for me. Pics of my hair after a long day of work at 11:30 p.m. Yes, I know, not exactly ground breaking but I only now realized the occasion so I did what I had to do. While I might look like a pile my hair is still holding up and six years and almost 8000 grafts later I'm still a happy guy.

I had my first session when I was 32 and while I'm 38 now I still feel like I have a new lease on life and have never felt better.

Just thought I'd share.

Beautiful Joe - great stuff! Glad to see your still happy with the great work!

Looking good joe
From where you were to today is great.
Any chance you could add an outside shot of your crown as this is what interests me the most.
Thanks.

Well done jo

You have come along way since the plugs !!

Great result bud , looking tip top , it's good to see you and spex putting up good clear pics to advertise the clinics who did your own hts , that shows honest conviction in the surgeons you both work hard to promote .

When I saw this post I couldn't believe my eyes, *another* Jotronic photo album? You've set a record for the most hair photos in the world! Your looking fantastic and if I had gone through such a radical transformation I would be giving myself awards left and right! Your truly the Ron Jeremy of hair (i.e. RON HAIRME)...and your 38? I pegged you to be around 29/early 30's(?). Must be all of those glorious grafts!

You've set a precedent for mop shots in the world of balding blogs and all of us are truly grateful. Now, you have even out done yourself: shower shots, wet shots, drying the hair, combing the hair, drunken hair boat rides....wha'ts next? Can even Ron Hairme outdo himself? Perhaps a helmetless sky diving video showing your grafts waving in all their glory as you plummet to the ground @ 200 mph? Or better yet! A drunken helmetless sky diving video beer in hand as your free-diving to the ground! Maybe you can get Dr. Wong to join you? He can style and primp your mop as you both free-fall to the ground w/beers in hand, Bobman diving behind you juggling combs and wigs and Dr. Hasson can capture it all on film as he dives along side you camera in hand!!!Smile

NW5a,

Yeah, we think I have about another 2000 left if we were to try. I still do scalp exercises every once in a while because you never know...

Chucky,

Just popped outside real quick for an outdoor crown shot just for you. It's not particularly sunny today but you get the idea.

PGP,

My hairline is about 7.5cm from my eyebrows. Consequently, my hairline in the back of my head is about 5cm above my arse because of how everything has been pulled so muchSmile

Dakota3, I appreciate your comment but never let anyone think I have a full head of hair. I do not nor will I ever present it as such. It is thin in various conditions and thick in others but I do not want anyone to misunderstand what I have here. It's nice to have this much though!

NG2GB,

I guess you missed that link. We had a blast but I kept spilling my Red Hook beer in the planeFrown

Joe,

Things look great. Are there certain hairstyles that you believe allow for the grafts to look their best due to the way that they layer?

Joe,

You are a hairy beast!!!

One question asked regularly on this forum and through email is "is transplanted hair permanent". Though there is certainly a possibility of donor hair thinning as we age, your hair transplant is a testimony to the longevity and permanency of a hair transplant. This is why selecting a first-rate physician is key - because good or bad, you are stuck with it!

You, my friend, are "stuck" with an excellent head of hair forever! Big Grin

Falc

Agree with the others that you have a great head of hair. I have seen you in person and even up close inches away it just looks good. It doesn't surprise me that years later you are still pumped.

You're a trooper Joe. Just recently ready your story on your website and it's quite an inspiring rollercoaster of a journey you've taken. You're results look great!

Hopefully with sites such as this, great docs, evolving technology and guidance from people such as yourself newbies won't have to ride that coaster.

NN,

Yes, some hairstyles work better than others. All of them work because I can HAVE hairstyles now! Seriously, brushed to either side or back is better because I have more of my crown covered and when I brush it or spike it forward more crown is exposed. I have mixed feelings about the forward style because most of the time the added exposure to my crown does not bother me but it has from time to time. I don't think it's such a big deal that it makes me look ridiculous but I do feel a bit more conscious about it but most of the time I say F-it and enjoy what I have.

HT55,

That is where I draw the line. If I were to dye my hair darker I'd look like some aging Goth punk that is angry at the world. I'm already pasty enough as it is so doing this would only make things worse. Sorry.

Falc, I can think of worse things to be stuck with. Thanks for chiming in.

Rambler, good to hear from you. You're on your way as well my friend. I'm watching your progress and am excited for your eventual result.

Flyby,

That's the goal my friend, not just for newbies but to encourage better work in the field. Hopefully I've contributed even just a hair (sorry).

Chucky, it just depends on how you approach it my friend and that starts with picking the right clinic and not one that will just say what the patient wants to hear.

Hey jo , I replied to spex earlier but Its relevent to you to bud.

There have been more and more guys asking about repairs , plugs and scar revisions , using FUE to fill old scars and stuff , maybe these should be posted on there own thread for newbies , sometimes info gets missed on these threads and i , for one know how important your experiences and infomation is .

Seriously though ,you and other representatives of hair clinics like janna , jotronic and b-spot and falcorus do an awful lot on these and other forums to educate and help loads of guys decide the best way to go .

That in it's self shows conviction in your chosen surgeon .

You guys really do deserve more recognition than you often get , posting clear outside pics , close ups , answering questions with experience , it all helps guys , and some girls to make educated and imformed choices

Keep posting the pics and supplying unbiased info ,it does help educate newbies .

Keep fighting the good fight guys

Richie48,

"maybe these should be posted on there own thread for newbies "

You mean a dedicated "repair" thread. Not a bad idea. Talk to Falc about that one.

"You guys really do deserve more recognition than you often get , posting clear outside pics , close ups , answering questions with experience , it all helps guys , and some girls to make educated and imformed choices"

That's very nice of you to say. More recognition can be sent to my paypal account. SmileSmileSmile Seriously, this is kind of like a drug. Each new milestone is a new high and I'm still just happy to be involved in helping others.

Thanks for the comments. It's appreciated.
