04-28-08 Update: At the five month mark, I've noticed that my transplanted hair has really started to grow and thicken. I'm very impressed with the density and growth that I have achieved at this point. The veteran members of this message board are correct; it takes at least six months to show early results and twelve months before determining the final result. I look forward to more growth in the future. I've added pics of my growth at five months. |

You havent even began to grow yet so why do you think its asymmetrical?
Im assuming from the post op pics Give it time to start growing and by 6 months you should have a better idea what it will look like. |

Thanks for your reply, PGP. That's what I was told by Dr. Konior's office. I guess that I should just be patient and come back in three months.

Konior_Patient,
Congratulations on your recent hair transplant and for selecting a first-rate physician. 3 months is way too early to determine how your hair transplant will turn out. In fact, experiencing any hair growth at this point would be impressive. Keep in mind that hair typically starts growing as thin, fine, and colorless and often grow at different rates. Be sure to give the hair transplant a good 12 months before determining the result. Dr. Konior also posted your immediately postoperative pictures and his response to your concerns on this thread. Be sure to read it. From the immedately postoperative pictures, I believe your result will turn out just fine. Hey Guys, I'd like to thank everyone who replied to my original post. Well, it's been five months and everything is going well. To be truthful, and I hope that I don't sound like a huckster, I'm pretty blown away by the results so far. The density that I've achieved at this point is beyond my expectations. It feels great to be able to part my hair on the side and feel confident that it will look good. I no longer have to be concerned about styling my hair in a certain way for it to look presentable. You can view my five month results Here. I have to take my hat off to Dr. Konior and his staff. They made me feel comfortable before, during, and after my procedure. I look forward to more growth in the future. This website has proved to be an invaluable resource and I'd like to say thanks to all of the contributors. |

Back in the mid 90's, I received about 500 mini/micro-grafts from a local dermatologist. Based on the technology of the time, I feel he did a good job. I wasn't given a great deal of density, but the transplants that I received allowed me to style my hair in a way that I was able to mask the thinning. |

Konior_Patient,
I remember this post from a few months ago and how you were concerned at 3 months. And now just 2 months later, you are already looking great! The best is yet to come however as more growth and thickening is in your future. Best wishes, Falc To learn about how I restored my hair, read my hair restoration story with pictures.
