Hey guys,

I am starting a business and we are launching a website (two actually) and one website is being built to help market for the other one - basically, for the marketing website we are asking people to post/submit stories about their experience working in a particular industry (I won't mention which one, because I'm not trying to promote here, just get your opinion) and we are trying to decide whether or not to have an open forum like this one, or to let people submit stories and we edit out things like company name, bad language, stupid flame war stuff, etc.

If you had your choice, which one would you guys suggest?

Falc, Pat, and all of you with a lot of experience with online forums, I would really like your input.

Thanks a bunch guys, I love this site.

Could be a help but could also be a hinderance. If you're trying to sell or provide service for anything, and you have an open forum, you're bound to get some negative posting..............not because your product or service is bad just because there are people out there who seem to enjoy "causing a ruckus".

I totally respect you keeping the info on the QT so as not to be promoting anything but would probably need to know more about it to give an opinion on whether or not I thought a forum would help.

You can PM me with details if you'd like.
