If I am getting my hairline repaired because of previous bad h/t. What would be a proper repair method, have the pluggy(9 hairs growing in one graph) removed and then cut up and be placed again back in the hairline or have the hairline lowered a bit would new graphs, and have the new graphs blended in with the old pluggy graphs???

metro,

I think that would have to depend on how much donor hair you have available to camouflage those plugs AND in reserve for any subsequent procedure you may want/need.

donor area is limited. one doc said lower the hairline with more graphs. another doc said remove old graphs, then cut them up and place them back in and then add new graphs months later.

I guess it depends how good each doctor is???

..can't removing older graphs be damaged??

metro,

Check out Altair's experience with Dr. Glenn Charles here. If you look at his before pictures, you will see that Dr. Charles had very little to work with as far as donor hair. This might shed a little light into what I was saying.

metro,

You may also find this interesting. The Learning Center has a lot of good information about repair work on outdated hair transplant techniques.

Also, check out the repair patient Before and After picture galleries. This will provide a good bit of insight into the different techniques used repair old tranplant work.

hey metro,
glad to see you are still asking away!! If you donor area is limited, then I would opt. for getting them removed such as Altair did.

But, that would also depnd on how much work, outside if this you still want done.

If this would be your last procedure, then maybe another strip would be a viable option. But I would weigh in the DeVinci scale into play.

You don't want to low of a hair line.

But if it is matter of hairline versuse donor supply, you definetly want to keep something in reserve.

Let us know what you decide!!
Good luck.. Later

In addition to my thoughts on the subject stated earlier, I would have to say that I want to reitterate HBT when I say that you do not want too low of a hairline. I do not know your age, but that would be a large concern of mine.
