I currently have very little hairloss, not very noticeable at all in fact. However, I am currently using Revita, Minox, and Proscar. The reason I started using them all in the first place was because I noticed some hair loss and the Hair Club microscopic camera confirmed it.
I have heard that Revita and Minox are weak, plus Minox is just regrowth formula. I feel that I am satisfied with my current amount of hair and don't need to regrow any through the Minox. So my question is, can I just use the Proscar only to prevent further hairloss since I feel I don't need to regrow any, or do I need to continue staying on all 3? |

mrsportsy,
If you are going to select one to stick with, I'd stick with Proscar. If you don't mind the regime, using all 3 gives you the greatest chance to maintain and regrow hair. Proscar (1/4 tablet) can be effective by itself but is often enhanced by minoxidil. Best wishes, Falc To learn about how I restored my hair, click here. I keep hearing people saying big 3 ....Isn't Revita a shampoo? According to many docs, shampoos don't have ANY hair growth promotion, am I wrong?

Hi
Your doc is for the most part correct. However the active ingredient in Revita ( and Nizoral) has shown a positive effect in increasing haircount. In addition Revita has a nice cosmetic effect so with this in mind some ( including myself) include this in their hair loss regimine JOBI 1417 FUT - Dr. True 1476 FUT - Dr. True 2124 FUT - Dr. True My views are based on my personal experiences, research, and objective observations Total - 5017 FU's uncut! |

HairDew,
Revita and Nizoral contain an ingredient called ketoconazole which has been studied and potentially a "weak" DHT inhibitor. Though I am skeptical that in itself, that it will regrow hair, using it as an adjunct treatment might be helpful. See more on ketoconazole.
