Does anyone know of any HT places in the Boston or MA. area that perform micro follicular unit transplants?

Micro follicular units are not acceptable and outdated and you are confusing them "follicular units dissected with a microscope"
Don't fall prey to false terms! |

Hi Monty
The terminology has never been firmly established, and I think it can get a little confusing. Some clinics even try to take advantage of patients' confusion, by using the terms to suit their purposes. But in this case, this fellow "Math" is not necessarily describing the "gold standard" grafts incorrectly... "micro follicular unit transplant" "Micro" in this case will hopefully describe microscopic dissection. Also, theoretically a FU graft is a sub-category of Micrograft. A FU graft is a micrograft trimmed under a microscope. I know this is splitting hairs, and getting a little anal-retentive on my part...sorry. Look at how Pat describes FUs on the following page. As long as patients follow these guidelines, they will be getting a modern procedure: http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/Best_hair_transplant_procedure/index.asp I for one, would like to see doctors come up with a more recognizable way to describe this approach, that would be confusion-free. |
