I was reading about how they can transplant chest hair. That's great and all but not everybody has an abundance of that.
On the other hand, I've got a TON of beard hair in places I don't really need or want it. Like around the neck. It's unsightly and a pain in the neck (pardon the pun) to shave. Has anybody ever given thought to moving some of that unwanted beard hair to the place where it's needed most? Would that be too dangerous? (with the jugular vein being near there and all) Any thoughts? |

That's a question for a Surgeon. I'd image it would be very dificult to extract.

Hello,
What immediately comes to mind with beard hair is that it's extremely coarse nature would be prohibitive to scalp transplantation. Another factor would be scarring. While this type of extraction may seem viable to other parts of the body and even scalp, I would think that scarring would be a major drawback on the neck area, if it were possible to extract follicles from that area safely at all. I agree with JacobS. It is definitely a question for a physician but in my opinion it wouldn't be a likely contengency plan in lieu of scalp donor. -Robert ------------------------------ Check out the results of my surgical hair restoration performed by Dr. Jerry Cooley by visiting my Hair Loss Weblog |
