I'm having a second ht in April.

1. Can anyone advise or know from past experience whether there is the chance of shock loss to the hairs previously transplanted. I intend to thicken up the already transplanted area to add more density but obviously don't want to lose what is already there.

2. Secondly, is there any chance that the donor scar can be reduced in thickness? (i.e. can the scar be cut out when extracting the donor strip and re-closed to form a thinner scar).

3. Finally, how wide is an average scar? Mine I think is wider than average and i'm a little disappointed.

Thanks for your help in advance.

James.

I HAD 2 HT 6 MONTHS AFTER FIRST FOR DENSITY. hAD NO SHOCK LOSS 2 TIME. ALOT THE FIRST. mY FIRST SCAR STRETCHED SO THE DOC DIDN'T WANT TO TOUCH IT AS IT COULD SPREAD MORE. I SHOULD HAVE WAITED A FULL YEAR FOR THE FIRST SCAR, THAT WAY IT COULD BE CUT OUT WITH THE 2ND HT. MY SCALP IS SO TIGHT I MAY GET FUE TO HIT SCAR. GOOD LUCK

I had a second procedure only 7 months after my first. I lowered my hairline 1/2 " and added to the temple area. I suffered noticeable shock loss from my 1st transplant hairs, which fully recovered after about a year(?). I wonder if I should have waited until my 1st grafts were more "established" before subjecting them to the shock. I haven't heard any discussion on that subject.

My 2nd HT did NOT cause the grafts from my 1st HT to go into shock/shed.
