Hey all,

I have seen some postings about using Toppik. What is it and how good does it cover up? Is it mostly after HT work? Thanks

Mikesf,

I haven't had my HT yet, but have read a lot about Toppik and bought some recently. Basically, it's protein (like hair) that sticks to your hair due to the electrically charged particles (similar to static electricity).

Go into the two or three other main forum categories and search for it and you'll find plenty of info.

Most posters rate it highly since it's pretty easy to use. Just shake it on and comb through or use your fingers. Generally, it's great for a thinned, but not completely bald area since it adheres to your existing hair.

Specific instructions can be found in many posts and like other concealers, everyone has their tips that work for them.

Hey Jersey23..thanks for the tip. I will do what you suggested. Should be great for post HT supplements.

Try Dermatch.. Much better and neater in my opinion.. Also, it is water friendly

I've never used Dermmatch, so can't attest to it. I do use Toppik, sparingly, with very good results.

I comb my hair forward to cover up my HT and spray the Toppik about an inch behind the hairline. It helps cover the shock loss thin spots. It does not work well on the hairline if you have a hairstyle where your hair is combed back or up.

You have to "play" with it a few times to learn how to use it. Sometimes I nail it, other times I have to rinse and repeat. Smile
