I was wondering if anyone new about the near future medications being available. Right now the best one, and easiest to deal with is finasteride. Does anyone know about medications that will be more effective, and when they will be available? Perhaps in the next few to five years perhaps? I think Dutsateride is th closest one, but I hear it has a lot of adverse side effects. I am just welcoming any and all comments.
Thanx everyone

Hi jr,

I know that dutasteride attacks or should I say blocks both type's 1& 2, when I had my 1st HT in London it was available and I was offered access to it by the HT company (Wellsbourne) but stuck with propecia. I too have heard of much more severe side effects so I though stick with what you know. Apparently it woks well on the front and mid-scalp but mine's already out of there and im waiting on my 2141 recent grafts (6 weeks old) to kick in so why bother.

Id rather not take any medication and have a Futzy type result and then not have to worry.

Jr1,

Don't forget that Dutasteride still is not FDA approved for the treatment of MPB. Now, that is not to say that it does not work. Many hair loss sufferers are claiming great results from Dutasteride. The side effects from Dutasteride can, however, be more severe. If you are not currently on medication then you should perhaps speak to a physician on whether it is right for you.
