i'm 5 months post op and the grafts are just
starting to come in nice and finally i see light
at the end of the tunnel and what do i do.i go
fishing on a boat for 4 hours in hot 85 degree
weather and without thinking i fry my head.i burned my head pretty good,i was feeling i guess
overconfident.does anyone have any thoughts on
sun 5 months post op ,i hope i didn't ruin what
was just starting to be a good thing.any feedback
would be helpful. thanks confused

According to my doctor, after the first week or so, the transplants are permanent. Have you ever burned your head before? Did your old hair fall out because of it? Probably not--so don't sweat it. Those babies are going to be with you for the rest of your life!

Sunburn can trigger hair loss. I don't know what effect it will have on your grafts. But the grafts have a certain amount of scar tissue (where they sit in the scalp). You should probably keep your scalp out of the sun, even if it doesn't hurt your graft growth.
