hello friends,

I am planning to shave my head. I am currently on finastride 1mg and minoxidil 2%. I heard that if you shave your head while on loosing hair, you will not retain good amount of hair when it is grown. Is this True??

I think that this goes along the same line as this absurd joke:

"My girl's butt kept on getting bigger and I assumed it was because she wiped her butt so much. So, I had her do the wipe between her breasts to get the same effect."

Do you understand the relationship--there is none, just as how I feel about shaving your head.

I know people who believe that shaving your chest will cause more hair to grow and some believe if you shave your chest it will thin out. I believe it to be a sort of old wives tale kind of like the joke. I was a competitive swimmer and shaved my whole body(save the comments Big Grin) and it did not change the amount, composition or anything regarding my hair. I shaved my head too with the same result at the time.

If you shave the hair on your head when "losing" your hair it may just take longer for your hair to grow back at this stage in your life. I have heard that if you use a dull electric razor, it may pull at the hairs that are miniaturizing and permanently remove them. You know what, those hairs were on their way out anyway.

I say shave your head, if you like the look keep it. If you don't like it grow it back out.

OK, was TOO long winded.

saddy,

Eman gave you a detailed explanation and he is correct.

Shaving your head will not facilitate hair loss.

Falc is right

shaving the head will not cause it to "not grow back" or "grow back thicker".
