Hello All.

I am 21... and noticed that I started to loose more and more hair at about 18 (just hair in the shower etc). At around 20 I started to notice that my hairline in the temples were receeding, and a little bit on the top of my head. I immediately went to my dermatoligist, and she put me on propecia and suggested I combine it with Minoxidil. I've been using propecia for about 5 months now, and the minoxidil for about 2 1/2. She told me that the minoxidil would instruct me to use it only on the crown, but it would not hurt to use it on the temporal areas.

Within the past few weeks..... I am actually starting to see small amounts of (what appears to be) regrowth in the temporal area. There are a few hairs here and there that have started to come in. I have noticed that I do not appear to be loosing any more hair.

So I guess this is a much better alternative to getting a piece of my scalp cut out... at least at this point in the game. I am hoping that once I get enough regrowth (im not expecting anything spectacular, but it appears to be working amazingly!) the propecial will keep it there.

Has anyone else had experiences similar to this? What was the outcome long term? I guess I am fortunate to got on the propecia so soon... I am hoping that the hair i have lost can be regrown since it hasnt been gone all that long.

Thanks all, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!! Smile

Just keep on the propecia and the minoxodil...you are way to young to get a HT..you should wait until your hairloss is in full force...it would suck to get it done then in the future your sides drop and all you got is the one spot your doc filled in...Your doing the correct thing now for your age. Take it from me 38 and 6 HT's...I only wish there was propecia 15 years ago.;;

aloha big it up

Yeah.. I am under no influence to go under the knife anytime soon. I am just hoping the propecia works and keeps on working for a long time. I just hope it keeps on working... Smile
