THe reason is that your body rejects foreign objects that are not genenically coded with one's self. Anti rejection drugs cost hundreds of dollars a month-sometime pushing 1K a month depending on the transplant and number of drugs needs. A person wouldnt have a problem being on these drugs which have HUGE side effects the rest of his/her life if it was to save your life-like heart, liver, kidney, ect. However, for Hair???? Come on!! On the positive side, some recent research has been done on foreign donor hair and limited rejection has been documented. THat is the good news, the bad is that it was only a few FU and it was transplaned in a person's arm not his head. THere is thought the hair shafts might not have the anti rejection genenic coding but more research in needed.
