To date, what is the record for the largest amount of grafts extracted in a single session without splitting grafts? Or maybe I should say what is the record for the largest donor strip in square cm extracted in one session?

Do you think it will ever be possible with medical advancement that in like 5-10 years time, we'll be able to safely extract all of a patient's donor supply, in one single, flatout, 9000+ grafts Gigasession?

If let's say for example, someone is in their forties, have their hairloss stablized, wouldn't extracting all of the donor supply in one session be the logical thing to do if that large amount of grafts are needed?

Would be interesting to hear people's comments.

Good question.. First of all in 5-10 years haircloning will probably be possible so there might not be a need for taking a huge strip as they will be able to grow them in a petri dish..That or another drug will come along ( let's hope for both) As far as the largest session without cutting FU's.. This is a tough one because there has been debate if the doctors are splitting these FU in the HUGE MEGASESSIONS.. I think it is safe to say though there are cases where the patient received about 7000 grafts in one session..

rp- Just IMO but I think the envelope has been pushed close to its limit for donor harvest in one session. Two primary things make large sessions happen........dense donor hair and elastic scalp! IF you have the donor hair, AND you have good scalp laxity, THEN you MAY be able to harvest large numbers. However, to keep excelling in this area of big numbers, something will need to be done to stretch the scalp even further which I'm not sure is safely possibly if you want to have a thin scar.

JOBI - Yes, when HM gets here I suppose it could mean no longer having a finite donor supply............wonder what it'll cost??

It's exciting to think about what the future holds as only a couple years ago, people though 4000 grafts was next to unreachable.
