Hey all. This is my first post here in this online community so hi hi. I'm a graphic designer and a bit of an eccentric who has both strong artistic skills and chronic major depression.

I'll get around to posting a pic of my balding-assed head sometime soon, though I notice that my hair loss isn't as severe as many pics I've seen so far. I wonder if transplants to the crown and the vertex require two separate visits to a surgeon.

I also want to know about procedures for thickening diffuse hair loss as opposed to the site-specfic patches i've seen in most photos. There must be a procedure for this as women's hair loss is usually of a diffuse type.

Anyway, diffuse thinning requires a bit of a different approach, but can be accomplished.

So did you graphically design the picture that you posted? It's quite good - yet quite sad and seemingly reflective of your mood.

Those hair loss sufferers with diffuse hair thinning patterns can be good hair transplant candidates but must be approached somewhat differently due to the additional risk of permanent shock loss to the native hairs during surgery. Keep in mind however, that diffuse hair thinning is different than diffuse alopecia. To learn more about the differences, click here.

As you suggested multiple hair transplant surgeries may or may not be needed in order to meet your hair restoration goals. I recommend consulting with quality hair restoration physician who can assess your needs.

If you haven't already, I recommend trying FDA approved hair loss drugs such as Propecia and Rogaine to fight against future hairloss and possibly even regrow hair.

Feel free to post some pictures so we can more accurately assess your situation.

There are treatments avaiable which can help you.. I can tell you if you are already depressed, getting your hair back will only go so far. Starting an exercise program might help as well.

I consider myself somewhat of an eccentric myself, and my personal philosophy (although not related to hair loss, but will mention it none the less since you placed it in your initial post) is that an individuals' strongest quality in most cases is also his weakest; as it has the most pronounced and pervasive affect on him as a person...

A ton of women would like to believe that van Gogh cut off his ear as a sign of intense and sheer: passion, love, and eternal obsession over his lover. BUuuuut, I personally think it was because the damn bitch wouldn't shut the hell up and he just said.."HERE!!!!...take my fucking ear! I just cant take it any more!!!!"...None the less, girls' just go absolutely crazy over this sort of thing. I once tried to send a girl a finger nail clipping in an attempt to replicate the effect, *BUT*, she wouldn't settle. Sigh..Oh well, I still have all my members...

Hair (to the best of my knowledge):
1. Crown & Vertex: they do not NECESSARILY require two separate visits to a surgeon. There are many cases in which the patient has them both done at the same time. Many people suggest that the crown is the most difficult area to transplant into. It also has a much slower rate of growth than other areas.
2. Diffused Thinners: this is an area of major concern to me, as I am a diffused thinner as well. Many top docs (such as Hasson & Wong) require shaving in the recipient areas to limit shock loss to native hairs which occurs when a hair is transected. The shaving allows for the docs' to view the exact angle of hair growth and minimize any (permanent) shock loss in this area. So, in short: yes it can be done and it has with quite some success. back to topic,mrA im sorry you are suffering from depression,i have not been majorly depressed but as alan partridge put it once"clinically fed up".seriously i know where you are coming from and "cheer up"is not what you want to hear.i also dont believe the hair will sort your head out,but it may help if you are suffering low esteem,etc because of it.
anyway you have come to the right place for education into hairloss/restoration.

cool. Yeah, if I watch some British films some times I have no clue what's going on. Remember that part in Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barells where they had sub-titles? That was very helfpull.
