Hi all.
I'm heading down to Florida next week and curious how much exposure is safe. I'll be about 3 months post-op and don't want to screw anything up just trying to get a nice tan. Sunblock advice...spf strength...any personal experiences from you guys ?? Thanks, MH |

MORE_HAIR, The sun is brutal, and I never chance it with sunblock either and just wear a thick hat to not let any rays through, especially if you still have slight redness.

I would not chance it, you have a big investment to take care of. You may want to use the search function as I am sure there is more info on this issue.

More_Hair,
You are best to wait at least 6 months after hair transplantation before exposing your scalp to the sun. ] In my opinion however, it is always best to wear sunblock as too much sun (especially the ultra violet rays) on any part of the skin is bad for you. Personally speaking, even though my hair transplant was over a year ago, because my hair is still thinner and sun can get through to my scalp, I always wear a hat when I'm out in the sun for longer periods of time. Thanks guys.
I figure it's not worth taking any chances. With all the BS ya go through post-op....plus the desire for the best possible result..better to wear a hat and or hide from the sun. As usual...thanks for the help/advice guys. MH |

More-
I actually had the same question and asked about what sunscreen to use. I have heard to wait anywhere from 3 to 6 months before getting any sun. Here is a link to my question: http://hair-restoration-info.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/146...331047292#7331047292 |

Eman.
I read that old post....good info. I had my HT in Nov...figure I'll be safe around summer. I think for this trip...I'm laying low/under a hat. Us NY guys always go down to Florida forget the strength of the sun...can't afford that this time. Thanks, MORE |
