I have started using Toppik (and Couvre), and the hair where I apply Toppik is thickened very very much, but do you comb your hair an hour after you apply Toppik (after it takes affect)?

I am afraid to comb my hair because the effect of the Toppik is so strong and the thickening is so powerful, that it seems to hold together some hairs into each other to the point where I am afraid my Toppiked hairs will get caught in the comb and will be "pulling" on my HT hairs...

eastcostht,

I really doubt that this is a problem. The Toppik is only held in place temporarily and is not a permanent bond. It is very easy to wash out by simply shampooing. I have combed my hair everytime I have used Toppik wih no adverse effects.

For more information on Toppik and other topicals and how they work, go here.

I used Toppik myself between procedures. I found the best results were to comb/brush your hair into place first. Then gently tap the fibers into the areas needed. If you do not mind a little hairspray, hold the spray bottle approximately twelve inches away from your head and lightly spray a mist and let it gently fall on the areas. The spray will help hold the fibers to your hair cylinders and very little of it will blow away. As Robert stated, you can wash the product out very easily with shampoos. I also found that first wetting or shampooing and then drying my hair in the morning made it easier to style before the Toppik was applied. Before long, you will be an expert at it!
