Hello Group,

Well, I have bitched and cried enough in the past on this forum. I have complained about androgenetic alopecia, telegon effluvium, and transplants not working. Now I will share my good news. My most receint addition to my drug cocktail has been Avodart. I believe this drug is the major reason for my improved fullness and hairline thickening. I have uploaded 4 pictures of the significant stages of my hair loss and regrowth period.

Stage I: Aug 02-(AGA) orchiectomy, Proscar,
Premarin, Provera
Stage II: Jan 03-(HT1835) added Minoxidil
Stage III:May 03-(TE) added Spironolactone
Stage IV: Sep 03-(REGROWTH) added Avodart

Thank you all who have helped me in the past, especially Jenn Smile

Luv
Purpella

If I read your post right, the only thing's that you have given time to work would be the Proscar and the hair transplant(1,835 graft's).

HT1835? That did mean a 1,835 graft hair transplant didn't it ?

From where you started you have come a long way. You look great...

Purpella, I have a problem with your post. You state that Avodart has caused increased thickening of your hair. You have been on it for what, 2 weeks? I think you are seeing the very good results of Dr. Albert's work. From the pictures, it looks like your HT hair grew to a decent length before falling out like most transplanted hairs do. Your results are also from the other procedures and drugs that you have listed. I am happy for you that your hair now looks very good. I just don't think the results are from Avodart which I understand is a rather expensive drug.

Each stage has this information:
1) Date of picture
2) Discription of what is going on with my hair
up to the time of the photo
3) Treatment used prior to the photo

I have been on Avodart for 4 months.(Stage IV)
The fall out in the pic is not from the HT, but from TE. (Stage III)
TE = telegon effluviun brought on by Spironolactone and Avodart.
HT1835 = hair transplants @1835 grafts (Stage II)
I have been on Premarin and Provera 2 years before the first photo. I believe these drugs maintained my hair only. (Stage I)

I hope that this info helps.

I guess my attempt at making a summary made things confusing Eek

Things are looking pretty good so far! You've had a great deal of growth since May '03. Quick question...what are we looking at in pic # 1 there? Is that a scalp reduction incision in the middle? Your post stated "orchiectomy", but I'm pretty sure that is not the medical term for that. Wink

Picture #1 is pre HT - actually at Dr. Beehners office. I did not have a scalp reduction. And you do not want to know what an orchiectomy is - lol.
