Hey all,

I had a terrible surgery 10 years back when a "Dr. Gainer" took a black and decker drill to my head!

I was young and trusting at the time. He had not mentioned the drill until after they had removed hair from the back of my head, during the operation. I was under pain killer and I thought great, now I can have that hair died or trust this fool with a drill.

I made the wrong choice and let the operation continue. I ended up looking like a doll with HUGE plugs that come out of dents!!!!!!

It took ten years to get the nerve to have it corrected. I had an operation with Dr. Devroye one week ago, Today I went to the the mirror to see a few scabs had fallen away. The DENTS in my head are gone! There may be a slight mark, but I really can't tell which is GREAT!

A large amount of the grafts Dr. Devroye put in have not fallen out. I know they are suppose to and probably will, but it is nice to run my fingers over my head and feel hair, no holes.. (sad, but true) If is wasn't for this web-site I would not have found such a wonderful doctor!

Be careful, choose wisely

Can you explain some better? I also have plugs with dents in the basis (Not so large, I had not a fool with a drill, but he filled me of minigrafts of 6-8 hairs) How is possible the dents are dissapeared? He only increased your density around the dents or he got out the old plugs? I am very interested in this option, because there are not good surgeons in Spain.

Thanks

Pedro,
For you the options would be better. My plugs were HUGE. About 30 hairs. Dr Devroye removed them and reused the hair elsewhere. He did not sew them up and they closed on there own. (I had some of them stitched before, but this workd MUCH MUCH better)

I really could not be happy with his work. At present many of the hairs have not fallen out. I can't tell the differnce bewteen the hairs he put in and the ones growing on their own. And it has only been two weeks! It looks there there won't be any scarring from the hair he inserted.

His work is so much better than my past transplant I am actually looking forward to the months to come and will probably have a follow up session. I am getting greedy...

For you he may be able just to insert hairs around the other plugs, you should really talk to Dr. Devroye. I really did my researched and Dr. Devroyes works is equal to the top doctors in the States. I actually am from California and just moved to Germany last year. I have compared work first hand. I got to see a patient of his and really take a CLOSE look, it was amazing!!!!

Sorry there aren't better doctors in Spain. I am presetnly living in Germany and it was worth the trip.

Devroye really has an artist touch. I just got an e-mail from him. He is in the states at the moment working with DR Shapiro. I know he checks his e-mail every few days and will get back to you.

I'll let Dr. Devroye know that is is Ok to give you my phone number it you wish. Actually I really don't mind calling you. For some reason Germany has this great calling plan. It only cost me about 4 euro cent a minute to call anywhere in Europe or the States. Great country...

Anyway if you want to talk send Devroye a note. Or I can answer you here.

Truth be told I really would like to help out. My surgeon in Califorina was a fool and I feel like one knowing I trusted the idiot. At least now I can look forward to gettng rid of the wig....

Sincerely,
david
