Just read some info on DHT inhibitors/blockers which Propecia/Proscar falls into the class. THe US Sports INstitute in conjuction with EAS sports nutrient concluded after testing athletes that blocking DHT allows for more lean muscle mass growth/development in athletes who train verus athletes who trained without taking DHT inhibitors. THis has been know behind the scenes for many years now with professional athletes as well as Olympic athletes, but know they have tested and concluded what elite athletes have already known.
Bascially lean muscle growth is the result of free testosterone. ONce it is broken down by DHT then is no longer has "muscle growth" properties but does serve the body in other ways (one way I guess would be in MPB--dam that DHT). Anyway, a lot of sports supplements over the past 2 years have been added "DHT inhibitor" type of vitamins to their respective supplements. The big combo now is creatine/glutamine/with DHT inhibitors> Supplement companies do not put Propecia/Proscar in their supplements, but add a combo of B6, Vit.C, Zinc, Vit.E, and Saw Palmetto (the combo of these 5 is a "natural" DHT inhibitor but not as nearly strong as the drugs).
With elite athletes, NFL/Pro Body Builders/ect, have been taking Propecia/Proscar with their muscle buiding supplements like creatine ect. The bodybuilders on steroids also take Proscar to keep the "roids' from being broken down to a from that is unusuable for muscle growth.

SO I know that this is old news for most, but I just read some recent info that confirms it.
For those of you who dont work out, dont worry Propecia will not give you a muscle bound physic-- you have to work out with other things.
FYI

Thanks for posting this. Any name brand supplements with that combo of B6, Vit.C, Zinc, Vit.E, and Saw Palmetto, or would I have to go looking? I am now convinced it's time to roll the dice on finasteride, but if I can "ease into" a DHT inhibitor over-the-counter, I would probably do that for a couple of months, say, then get Proscar.
