I have a surgery set in 2 weeks with Dr. Jones for a final hairline tweak. Along with the hairline he suggested removing my 4 to 8 hair coupled fu's and dispursing accordingly. On my last surgery he said there isn't any room on the mid-scalp and front for additional grafts, I am densely packed. My large grafts are still noticable. They look like mini-plugs. Did anyone every have mini/micro repair work where they could say it is completely undetectable? Any comments ? I really don't belive they can every be concealed. This was also confirmed by several other doctors. It did not work in my case.

Eastcoast,

Am I lead to believe or maybe I misunderstood that you are removing the old 4/8 couple fu's(microscopically dissect follicular unit)and replacing them within your hairline region? Did you infact have mini/micro from before that were camflouge or are the coupled fu's as you say too large and yet noticeable?

What was your physcians diagnosis concerning your condition exactly?

Eastcoast,
First, you Hairline looks good for mini/micro work-- the transition zone is where it stands out with the larger grafts. I had mini/micro work that looked similiar on the hairline, but instead of removing the grafts your speaking of (which cost more money$), My surgeon just surrounded them with more FU's and it looked real good. Now my problem is my crown hairloss has expanded-- working on that solution in the next 6 months. Good luck with the touchup session.

Thanks Smoothy,

If I come down a 1/4 inch with all singles will it be too low? Does any body know inches or cent. where a mature hairline should be when starting at the eybrows etc. I am wooried about the future as I will probally be a nw 6 with very little hair for the crown.

Thanks

Looking at your pics, I wouldnt have any grafts removed-- just "fill in" around them. Also, I wouldnt suggest lowering your hairline 1/4inch because it looks natural now-- if you lower it might look abnormal in 10-15 yrs--then your stuck. In addition, you have to save your donor for possible future loss. Around 35 your crown will probably start to thin as well as your midscalp area-- you need to make sure you have donor supply left.

Eastcoast,

I agree with Smoothy. The actual location of your hairline is fine. I had two people that happened to be near me that are very unfamiliar with hair transplantation what they thought of your hairline. One said that she could not tell anything. The other said that she could tell that something was done but if she had not known it she would not pick out in passing. In my opinion, you would benefit best from single and a very few double FU's that "soften" the hairline and further mask that slightly pluggy look. Lowering the hairline would not be advantageous either, for just the reason Smoothy pointed out and also from the fact that it is perfectly positioned as it is.

The main problen is the hairline consists of 2's and 3's. The 3's are at the very front. I believe my first butcher did this to get me back in for a hairline.
