I know a lot of people say that you should be very careful about how soon you choose to get a transplant because you may lose more hair than you thought you would. This would lead to a really noticeable and odd pattern of hair on your hair.
Well, isn't there a way to get rid of those hairs if you wanted to? Even if it was to just wax your head? But what about laser surgery or something? I'm asking because based off my family history, I shouldn't be losing any hair, but I am. So, I guess there's no sure way to find out how far I will progress. I would like to get a transplant in a couple years but I'd also like to be confident that I won't look like a total moron 10-15 years from now. |

taoofjord,
Great question. It is one that has been talked about at much length on these forums before. You can find some great dialogue by conducting a keyword search located under the "New" tab. Additionally, you can find some great information on repair options here. The most common repair option is to surgically remove the grafts and suture the area shut. Large grafts (like plugs) can sometimes be split into smaller follicular-units and even recycled in a more natural-appearing pattern. A great example of this is Altair. Peruse his thread to see what is possible in severe hair transplant repair situations. -Robert ------------------------------ Check out the results of my surgical hair restoration performed by Dr. Jerry Cooley by visiting my Hair Loss Weblog |
