Visit to Dr. Scott Alexander's clinic in Phoenix, Arizona by Pat - Publisher of this Community (created on )Gallery | Comments
Dr. Scott Alexander has been recommended on the Hair Transplant Network for a number of years and is a member of the Coalition of Independent Hair Restoration Physicians.

He has a strong surgical background that gave him a firm foundation when he began performing lateral slit follicular unit grafting a few years ago. He learned state of the art techniques, in part from Dr. Alan Feller, including FUE.

Dr. Alexander is meticulous and has a drive for perfection that has earned him a loyal and enthusiastic patient following. If you click the "Find" feature on this forum and do a search for "Alexander" you will find over two dozen pages of favorable listings regarding him and his clinic, Biltmore Surgical Hair Restoration.

Given his excellent reputation on this community, my visit to his clinic only confirmed what we already knew, which is that Dr. Alexander and his staff perform ultra refined follicular unit grafting at the highest level of skill and commitment.

His experienced staff has the ability to perform large densely packed sessions of over 4,000 ultra refined follicular unit grafts. All grafts are cut under microscopes and looked excellent and very refined. The staff's graft placing was also excellent.

On the day of my visit the patient was apparently highly intelligent because he had researched hair transplantation on this community and obviously made a wise choice. His goal was to restore his hairline and frontal third with about 2,500 grafts.

However, the patient was of Asian decent and characteristically had a low donor density and very few 3 and 4 hair grafts and his 30 cm long strip yielded only 2,287 grafts consisting of 583 ones, 1660 twos and only 44 threes.

Dr. Alexander took a good deal of time to carefully remove the patient's donor strip in sections. He performed a trichophytic closure using internal sutures to reduce the tension on the external sutures.

He then used tiny custom cut blades as small as 0.7mm to create a very tight and densely packed pattern of lateral incisions.

Overall I was very impressed by Dr. Alexander's attention to detail and his harmonious staff. In my opinion, their ultra refined work is truly world class.

I also met another patient named Jeff who had restored his frontal hairline area after only one surgery from a year before. His results looked completely natural and his density was very good for one session.
