Hello everyone,

The Problem

As you are all aware, we've been have been some difficulties with our photo albums due to the layout of the new software.

One of the biggest problems reported has been that computers will come to a crawl or completely lock up when a large photo album is running.

I am still waiting to hear from the software company as to their resolution.

However, to stop this from happening...

The Following Changes Were Made to the Photo Albums

1. The maximum photo file size to be uploaded in a photo album is 500K as opposed to 2000K (or 2MB)

2. The maximum number of pictures able to be uploaded has been set to 25.

These implementations should solve the computer lockup problem.

How This Will Impact You

Currently uploaded photo albums will not be impacted by this change.

With todays super high resolution digital cameras, many photos will have to be resized in order to post them successfully in a photo album. This will require use of a third party (not forum software related) imaging software application.

The good news is that most digital cameras come with image editing software and resizing an image is almost as easy as pushing a button!

Creating a Hair Loss Weblog as an Alternative to a Photo Album and Linking it in your Forum Signature

Keep in mind however, that you ALWAYS have the option of posting your photos in a hair loss weblog which may be a much better way to display your pictures.

Best wishes,

Falc

I just wanted to add.. Some folks do not know how to re-size their pics. Here is a SUPER easy way to re-size your pics without needing and editing software.

1. Right Click on your pic/file you would like to select and select 'open with' and it will give you several options. Choose open with "Paint" Its Microsoft Paint. Almost every PC has it.

2. Once you open it, the pic will be HUGE. In the top left corner click file, SAVE AS. The file will open up from its current location. From there you simply RE-NAME the picture. It will save the picture in its current location. Now you have two files of the same pics.

After saving the file you will have (2) of the same pics. Make sure to name it something different to distinguish the difference between the two. Just delete the bigger pic (original) to prevent confusion.

Good luck.

It should take a pic that is 1-2 MB and get it down to 300-500 KB's. Smile

Another option for resizing photos is to use a tool that we offer on our website. It is SUPER easy to use. Once you download it you should get an icon on your desktop. Simply drag and drop one photo or even a full folder of photos onto the icon and the program will automatically make a copy of the orginal photo and place it back into the same folder. You can tel the new image from the old because the file name will have "800" at the end. Here is the link to download the tool.

I am employed by Hasson & Wong, on salary, not commission. My opinions are my own. Beware of deceptive photo tactics used by clinics with both flash and studio lighting. Photo gallery patients are not models.
