This man came in yesterday and allows us to show his scar. He had a 16cm x 1.25cm strip procedure 6 months ago. Closure was with a nice tension-free trichophytic closure and now the scar line is virtually imperceptible.
We routinely use a tension-free 2 layer closure with the top layer closed with either sutures or staples.
This technique is useful for primary surgeries, revisions or second procedures, or, in our practice-scar revisions from previous surgeries elsewhere.
