Dr. Keller - Surgical Photos by Falceros - Associate Publisher (created on )Gallery | Comments
I am posting these hair transplant photos on behalf of Dr. Keller of North Shore Hair Transplant Specialists who has recently become interested in recommendation in our community.

Dr. Keller has over 6 years of experience in hair transplantation and performs hair transplants exclusively at his clinic located in Chicago, IL. He has the experience and staff to perform over 3000 follicular unit grafts using ultra refined follicular unit grafting in a single session when appropriate.

The surgical photos below are designed to show Dr. Keller's techniques in surgical hair restoration surgery.

To see before/after photos of some of his patients, you can view any of the following threads:

2811 grafts in one hair transplant procedure

2500 grafts in one hair transplant procedure

Female hair transplant patient - 1500 grafts in one hair transplant session

You can see additional postoperative photos by clicking here

The only pictures I have not received yet are pictures of the donor area. Unfortunately, Dr. Keller did not take any pictures of the donor area in this particular case but he will be sending me example surgical pictures next week of his use of a single blade to remove the donor strip, and his use of the trichophytic closure technique.

These details below have been provided by Dr. Keller

------

This hair transplant patient is a 45 year old female who had facial cancer, which was treated with Mohs surgery, radiation therapy and skin grafting.

Much of her left parietal region is devoid of hair. Dr. Keller transplanted approximately 1675 grafts.

175 single haired grafts (used to outline and feather the visible borders of the bald region)

1500 multi-haired follicular unit grafts (2-4 hairs)

These follicular unit grafts were placed farther apart than when I dense pack because post-radition and post skin grafting tissue will not survive if planted too close.

Our clinic performed follicular unit hair transplantation (FUT) on this patient. The strip was approximately 1.5cm wide and 18cm long closed with a 2 layer closure without tension using the trichophytic closure technique.

This patient is aware that "graft-take" is quoted as 57% plus as an average due to her condition as described above.

The micro-vascularity seemed to be good intra-operatively and we are hopeful that these numbers will be much higher. The patient has been well informed that additional hair transplant may be necessary to achieve her hair restoration goals and the amount of hair density she desires.

Our clinic used nerve blocks with buffered anesthetic and careful tumescence. Cautery was not used.

After the hair transplant matures, this patient will return to her Plastic Surgeon for laser treatment of skin grafted areas of face. The facial framework as shown was intricately designed
because of slight asymmetry of face (right ear lower and grafted areas altering pre-auricular anatomy.
