I am 9 months post op today and have added some new photos to my site (see link below). I also attached a file that shows 4 pics: 6, 7, 8, and 9 month post op photos from the same angle.

I thought this might be helpful for those who are curious about the density increase from month to month, especially those who have had camouflage work done to hide old minis/micros.

TTaco,
That is an excellent post and very instructive to a guy like me. My camouflaging is a little more challenging because my old plugs were placed lower than yours. Dr.Wong placed the grafts in the scars and slightly below. I'm 6 months this weekend. While things are very good, I'm looking foreward to the hair thickening over the next few months. THANKS.
Jim

Looks very good TTACO. Looks like excellent progress from month 8 to 9, unless it's just the pic quality, length of hair etc, but I'm impressed. If you didn't see any more progress in the next several months hypothetically (I'm sure you will), what's your feel on the density? What's your gut feel on getting a second procedure?

Good luck in your continued progress.

Uncjim, you're welcome! Hope the pics are helpful for you and hopefully some others.

Tkotko, I think the 8 month picture was a little "off" - could have been the lighting or something, because the 7 month pic looks more dense than the 8 month one, but I never noticed it til I put them side by side.

I hope I don't have to get another HT for a very long time! I have to save the donor hair I have left; those punch grafts in the mid 90's used up a good bit of donor area. I'm happy with the density now, and it should get a little better over the next 3 months. I'm also looking forward to my new hairs straightening out like the rest of my hair. That should also make it look a little better.

Thank God for Pat and this site, because I may have been suckered in by a big hair mill who would have claimed to do an FU procedure and fix my old hairline, and that would have been a disaster.

You said you have some punch grafts from the mid-90s? In other words your previous doctor did not use a donor strip, but punched the donor grafts out of your donor area?

Can you remind me who your first doctor was? Most doctors stopped using punch grafts in the early 90s to use the donor strip, so one who continued to use punches in the mid-90s is especially irresponsible.

Thanks Futzy, I appreciate the kind words.

Arfy, you are correct on the punch procedure, there was no strip taken. My dr. was Dr. Jeffrey Weidig of Rockville, MD. His practice was taken over by Dr. John Kiely. His website iswww.hair-transplantation.com. He did the last punch procedure on me. I'm pretty sure they are still using the same outdated procedure. I'm lucky I have very good density and that they didn't totally deplete my donor area. Greco says I have a decent amount of donor hair left, but I'm hoping I can hang on to what I have. If you read some of my old posts I talk more about the punch experience. The first one was done in '94 and the last one in '97.
