No I didn't do any research at all I just stuck a pin in the world map as I was blindfolded and landed in Ottawa. I looked for HT Doctors in Ottawa and found Sanjay Gubta and H Rahal. I selected Rahal as his surgery is opposite the beer store..
Of course I did no planning at all and did not surf dozens of Internet sites for many years..
Silly really

It will be the way it will be. I dont find it so bad even at 4 months

Having completed the 12 motnh wiating game, I can tell you that you will be very happy at the year mark. Your growth is already very good; much of the grwoth and thickening comes later, around month 10.

Guys who have more hair to begin with usually have higher expectations.

Hi predator

I understand your frustrations and all, i dont know what to tell you exactly and i dont want to play the wise guy about how many months you should wait or your expectations...i just want to say this.

Personally i think your hair and your hairstyle is awesome and i like it a lot, if i was you i wouldnt bother my head too much with this for a while and just wait. You look very good and stylish but loose the moustache lol

The itchiness is all secondary to dryness- use head and shoulders- among others, and simple white petroleum gel at night (light coating) will significantly help with the itching. Like others have said- the numbness will eventually fade away over time

Pred I'm surprised you still have numbness. You might want to ask the doctor about that. My numbness went away around month 2 or 3.

Thanks for the inputs
Sounds sort of girly but I can do a lot more with the hair than I could before. Problem is I still do have a lot of itching an numbness and am often tempted to scratch and wash it up to four times a day. To avoid this I have gone for a very short cut- It all needed evening out anyway

i notice you complained about the grey hair coming in. try just for men, an added bonus is the density you get for a couple of weeks. it beefs up the see through look. if you try it tell me what you think.

Hi All
I have lost a few grafts on both sides in the hairline and the itching and numbness are still there also strange sensations. We'll see what the next two months bring.
I have not used any Rogaine or any other stuff and only take propecia. i dont want to try colouring the hair as I have never had a good experience with it. might change my mind.
A lot of guys must be wondering why I'm downbeat about the results, which basically look good. This has been a roller coaster ride with ups and downs side effects beyond the scope of this site and a tiredness with my own vanity- Frankly I wish I belonged to the group of guys who "Don't give a Fork" about hair loss
You might comb your hair in the morning and think "Where the hell did the style from last week go?", but a HT concentrates you on your hair to such an extent that it's hard to see the wood for the trees. I don't want to do this again

So here I am at just over 6 Months
According to the general consensus there is much more to come. But I won't have lost if it stays the way it is.

The hair is very soft and wirery. I still suffer from numbness and itching even after all this time.
I can't and won't judge until month 10, I have had too many highs and lows.
my pics are as honest as I can make them perhaps you have inputs

Looks great......the numbness and itching will go after time....as we age the body tends to take its time with healing...not like it was when we were 18 Smile

Predator,

You seem to be a lot happier now that you are a lot further along in the procedure, which is typical. Nobody likes the discomfort and healing and waiting phases after the procedure - but most enjoy the hair growth that follows.

You are well on your way and already have a magnificent result.

Best wishes,

Bill (Falc)

If it is any consolation, I had numbness and weird scalp sensations for almost an entire year after my surgery.

As a side note, I remember just after my surgery, I felt an an impending sense of doubt/doom. I woke up in the middle of the night almost in a panic asking myself "what the heck did I just have done!?!?" and "what if this was all a mistake!??!" I spoke to the doctor about it the following day and he assured me that feeling like that was not out of the ordinary; after all, I did just have surgery.

(You and I had the same doctor so I'm not surprised you are happy with your results! You are coming along very nicely!)
