Hello everyone.

The full story:

I started losing my hair shortly before turning 18, and i felt really weird/alien about it.

Tried different meds, with little result.

I was thinning all over, although my front was much weaker than my crown. Thus i went on meds again (propecia and rogaine for the crown) and i received a 1600 transplant for the front last november by a danish clinic.

The results were okayish, but there was no doubt that i would need a much larger subsequent procedure, and i finally decided upon dr. devroye of belgium.

The dr. and his staff was very likeable and i knew that i had made a good choice right away.

The plan was to lower and densify both hairline, temple and sideburn area as well as densifying the front and the middle.

Nothing was planted in the crown area, due to lack of grafts but also because the meds have helped tremendously and i think that within 6 months i have gotten full visual density back.

pre any meds and ht

front:

Crown

after my first ht and 11 months on regaine/propecia

Front:

top:

crown:

Side:

3 days post 2nd operation:

Sides

total: 43xx grafts and 10k hairs
feel free to make comments and so forth.

Mike,

Congratulations for selecting a world class surgeon to perform your hair transplant. Though the images are a little blurry (even the larger ones), the work looks ultra refined.

I expect you'll have a very nice result in several months.

Keep us postes and heal and grow well Smile

If all hairs are going to grow, this is going to be a great result. This hairline is perfect.

The downside. I really hope you won't face much hairloss in the future. Than you would wish, you would have done a slightly more mature hairline.

But again, this is really looking good.

Still, dr. devroye did a good job of covering behind the areas, so that in case of future recession loss will not look unnatural.

That being said, i should probably expect a 3rd procedure in 5-10 years, which i am saving for.

I feel great by the way - minimal agony in the donor area and i have no swelling at all.

It is much easier sleeping than it was on my first op..

oh hey there adam, thanks for dropping by Wink

And you are right, its harder to relate to older people because you cant really identify yourself with them. I must have spent alot of time searching the web for results of patients<25 years old.

I am definitely excited as we speak, and i cant wait for month 3..

Hey there eman, welcome to my thread.

I look forward to your 3-4 month pics, as your hairloss reminded me alot of my own.

I especially like how you had the sideburns fixed, as i believe that theyre crucial in framing the face. Hence i had the same thing made.

I agree with you Mike about the temples being crucial in terms of framing. I also look forward to the 3-4 month mark, but even more the one year mark.

It will be fun tracking each other's progress as you are about one month behind and also blonde.

Just a small update - decided to buzz my fuss down to a 1 guard, since i had shockloss in my donor it was just as visible anyway.

I feel alot more comfortable wearing a hat with this ultra short haircut.

I'll post your guys some pics at the 2 mo mark.

Happy growing @ all

Mike,

Shock loss is never fun, but your hair should return in the coming months with the dawning of your new transplanted hair.

You've chosen an excellent surgeon.

Keep us posted.

Mike- I am like you in that I like shaving down. Looks cleaner and better on me as I am sure it does on you too. We will have to decide at some point if we should grow it out and actually have a hairstyle Smile

Mike. I plan on getting similar work done that you have. I will be following your results closely and look forward to an update.

One question though. After your first HT you have that shot of the back of your head. It looks buzzed down pretty short. Theres no sign of a scar at all! thats pretty awesome looking

Thx fellas, dr. Devroye has promised to post my pre- and post ups in the near future, for those interested to see.

Space: Sounds interesting, are you young like me? about the scar, i think its just lucky lighting, the scar is normally quiet protrudent at this length, however my new scar made by dr. devroye is much thinner, more than twice as thin judging by the naked eye.

Have you planned a procedure yourself?
