Hello everyone, it's been a while but I'm back and balder than ever! hahaha

Anyway, my "hair situation" isn't so good right now. The growth from HT #1 was/is there but it is sparse in the areas where it was transplanted and is not so natural-looking. Basically, I need a lot more density where the procedure was done and all over the top of my head. Luckily, I haven't receded too much and I haven't even been taking propecia or using a special shampoo...I just got tired of dealing with that.

So, I'm saving some money to get another procedure done as soon as possible. However, I'm not sure of which doctor I'm going to go see and how much money I'll actually have to put out. I was hoping that 8,000 dollars would do the job quite nicely and "cover the bases" so to speak, and leave me without need for surgery for a good long time.

I'd like to be free of thinking about this issue for a while...

I haven't really been thinking about it per say, but I have been "held back" by the issue, socially. It's hard to approach women (especially since I'm still a senior in college), and it's just a confidence-killer, even if it shouldn't be.

If anyone would recommend some of the current really good HT doctors, that'd help tremendously. I want to go somewhere relatively close (I know, that's not always good), but I live in PA; so anywhere in the northeast would work.

I had been thinking about Doctor Feller, previously.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Take it easy everyone and hope all my old HT buddies are doing well.

Chris

-P.S. I pretty much hate Doctor Pistone

Regain my feet and my pounding heart

dhuge67,

Good to hear from you. I hope that all is well and this time you will try to listen to our advise. Smile If you are looking for a great doc at a reasonable price relatively in your area go to Dr. Feller or Dr. Rahal.

I agree with NN, those two are the best value for world class surgeons.

Good luck

Chris:
I've been following your story for awhile--sorry that things haven't worked out like you anticipated...have you discussed your situation with Dr. Pistone?--has he offered to help resolve your situation?...you would be in great hands with Dr. Feller, for sure...you could also research Dr. Bernstein, Dr. Vogel, & Dr. True, & Dr. Beehner--all of the above are very adept at HT repair projects...good luck with your choice!

dhuge,

Welcome back brother! I haven't seen you for awhile. How's the military treating you?

Living in PA, the doctors I would recommend consulting with that are closest to you are:

Dr. True in NY
Dr. Dorin in NY
Dr. Feller in NY
Dr. Bernstein in NY
Dr. Epstein in NY (also in Miami, FL)
Dr. Rose in NY

All of these doctors are members of the coalition of independent hair restoration physicians and perform ultra refined follicular unit transplantation.

Cost of course will be dependent on the cost per graft of the clinic you choose, the number of grafts needed, and the surgical technique chosen.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Falc

I appreciate the responses guys. I'll be looking into things a bit more seriously as soon as I have the necessary funds.

Also, about the military; at USMC Officer Candidate School, I broke my right foot in week 6 of 10. Long story short, I'm home now and won't be going back into the military, at least for the time being. I'm getting my degree from Penn State next semester and want to pursue a C.S.C.S. (certified strength and conditioning specialist) and then want to catch on as a strength coach for a University football team.

Hope all is well with you guys and I'm very grateful to have this place as a resource. You're good people and the consistent efforts of some of the members here are very appreciated.

Hair loss sucks and botched hair transplants are even worse.

It's a buyer beware market and you guys help to make it more of a "sure thing" if there is such a thing in cosmetic surgery.

Dhuge,

Good luck with you new career, you seem goal oriented and determined, good recipe for success. Check out my repair pics if you like as I had an old plug job from the 1980's. You are right, a unnatural result is worse than the hairloss itself.
