Hey all, I want to share this with all of you
that are doing the exercises prior to surgery to stretch the scalp.
It is a little hard to get a good hold of the scalp with your palms as Pushing 40 said.
I was given the Flinn scalp invigorator/shampoo brush a long time ago. Well I found it recently and it does a fantastic job of grabbing onto & stretching the scalp and is considerabaly more effective than your hands. A side benefit is that your hair will actually look healthier too!

Sorry about that P40! But you will still find it alot easier to stretch the scalp with this thing rather than your hands, shaved or not. You can really go to town with this brush stretching the scalp in every direction, And it's invigorating! Ok now I sound like a salesman. But wait! Buy 1 now & get the 2nd free! LOL! My date is 20 March.....my fingers trembled when I typed that...... I'm still very nervous about it but my mind is made up. After shaving my head this time, I realized my hair is much denser than I used to think it was. My wife was sitting there joking with me while I was buzzing it in the tub and said "damn your hair is thick back there." I looked and I think it is actually a little thicker than I thought. I was really thinking before "there is no way the doc will get 4000 graphs from me" but now I think maybe he can. I really don't have THAT much to cover if you've seen my pics. Density is my biggest desire for two reasons: my hair is VERY straight and I want to wear it longer all the way around. Jotronic helped me understand that as I had little grasp of it before his explanations. So, if I have to concede a centimeter back of forhead to get the density I want, so be it. I'm looking forward to really working that all out with the Doc.

Excellent suggestion. I did scalp exercises before my last surgery and I can imagine that this common device would help in gripping the scalp. It probally feels good too.

Well, have to get it tested by Jotronic - the original online advocate of the scalp massage.

I propose that the device be called the "Folica Donor Maximizer" in your honor. I suggest you use this device while you're on our forum pondering whether to do a hair transplant.

If you spend as much time doing research on this forum as Pushing40 your scalp will be so loose it will be sagging over your ears when you finally do surgery :-)

Pushing 40 I'm glad to hear you have moved past the "paralysis of analysis" and will be joining the real hair club for real. I'm confident that you will enjoy the process of going from being a thinning man to a thickening one.

I look forward to some day seeing photos of your prickly little transplant stubbles on this forum some day.

I undersatnd your anxiety man...you still have some time before the surgery...but a month does go pretty fast. I'm sure your anxiety flared up a bit when I said that...but seriously man...when you get back from your surgery, you're going to be thinking "that was it?" and "What was I afraid of". I'll tell you what...since I've not only gone through this 3 times, but have gone to the exact same clinic and the same doctor you are seeing....feel free to PM me and I'll give you my phone number if you want to talk about any of these things. Perhaps talking live about it will help ease your anxiety a bit...or at least you'll feel you have someone to talk to live who has been there before you.

Thank You Pat, I am very happy to have the Folica Donor Maximizer named in my honor! I am sorry you didn't get to use it for your recent HTP but I am glad that others will get to benefit from it.It fits nicely in the palm of your hand so you can do it with one hand. ( oooh I left myself open there ! )
So like you said you can use it while doing research on this, The #1 HTP forum on the Web hands down!
LOL Falc! No actually I didn't buy mine. It was given to me by an old wise man in the hair care business about 10 years ago who knew I was loosing my hair. I recently found it in a drawer because I thought it would work great for stretching the scalp & it does! To my suprise when I searched the web this morning there it was. They still sell it!
It really grabs the scalp without pulling the hair. You won't be able to put it down & when you do your scalp is buzzing! I never felt the back of my scalp this lax. I have gotten so much great info from everyone on this forum,
