I received 3 HT's in the mid ninties and received approximately 600 grafts each time. They were mini/micro grafts and not plugs. I reveived all the grafts in the hairline and front third of scalp. In late October of 2007 Dr. Paul Rose performed an additional 1650 grafts of the FUT strip procedure in the front third again. He also removed eight micro grafts that I was no longer able to hide because of thinnning native hair in the hairline.

Can anyone tell me what kind of results I should expect this time around, 12 years later?

Also, can anyone tell me what the major difference is between micro/mini grafts and the FUT strip method?

Thank you in advance for your replies!

The biggest difference is that micro/minis have more hairs in a bundle, thus require much larger incisions too have space for the extra tissue and refined FUT are as small as 1 hair grafts up to max(usually)4 hair grafts requiring much smaller incisions and a much more natural look. They are both actually strip procedures but alot of the industry just calls it strip method.Keep researching and stay away from micro/minis.

You received 1800 grafts prior to the 1600 grafts from Dr. Rose, all in the front 1/3rd. Even if you were completely bald in the front 1/3rd, you are going to have a decent coverage with 3400 grafts. We're assuming all 1800 graft you received in the 90's were viable grafts. I'm sure Dr. Rose did a splendid job of distributing the grafts to give you a nice, natural look. Good luck.

Janna- I'm just guessing at how many grafts I received in the mid ninties. It could have been 1400 hundred. Cannot remember if I asked or was told. Looking back I was too young. Dr. Rose took out some of the larger micros/minis two months ago too.
