I had some previous work done where the Dr inserted my grafts in a vertical fashion which is why my hair stands vertically.

I visited another HT Dr that advised me that he inserts the grafts in an angle and that he wants to fill in the area my previous Dr placed the vertical plugs.

My question is, how does it appear if you have older hairs standing vertical with newer hairs placed in an angle? Does it blend well? Can the two be combined?

thanks for your help

AV,

Welcome to our forum. In the old days surgeons did some times orient grafts straight up and down vertically. This was really not natural as you realize.

More recently physicians have become much more aware of how the angle and direction of hair changes depending on the area of the head it is growing from.

To learn more about "lateral slit" placement, click here.. Hasson and Wong have had a great deal to do with popularizing and teaching this technique. Many of the physicians members of the Coalition use this technique as well.

I do believe that if you add more hair into the already transplanted area that this hair can be laterally oriented.

Count Hairs not Grafts (i.e. More slices doesn't make the pizza bigger)
