Hello,

I am loosing my hair and I am thinking about hair transplanting. I have seen many of photos on this forum of people who taken on the process. In all of the photos, I noticed that everyone had a pattern cut from their top middle section. Is there any way to not affect existing hairs and add new hairs from the donor area. Also, will the donor area always be void of hair?

I am a black male that is loosing his hair, but I would like to maintain my dreads.

ptek,

Welcome, To answer your question about donor hair, it depends on whether done by FUE or Strip, do a search on those methods. For a black male, you may consider fue since it does not leave a strip scar, which is in some cases worse on African-American's. Check Dr. Feller's website, he has some photo examples and he does fue.

This site is loaded with good info, that is your first step.

Don't blame you for wanting to keep the "dreads", most of us are here for the same thing - more hair!! Wink
