Does anyone know if scarring in the front from old plugs would require the surgeon to do anything different while he is performing a repair job using modern techniques? For example, do the transplants have to be placed deeper or shallower? Is it better to go with single follicular units because of the reduced blood supply due to the scarring? How about the pre and post op treatment of the scalp? Thanks for you help!
There is not anything special the doctor needs to do in regards to the old plugs except extracting them. If the punch size is 2mm or greater, it will need a stitch, or else the smaller holes will heal by themselves. The grafts will be planted as normal. You will need single hairs in the front for a natural look, but not because of blood supply. Do you have a lot of plugs at the hairline? Maybe you can share some pics.
