So now, I am post-op day # 7.No itching so far, hence I have'nt had the need yet to use the Aloe I bought.
Qstn regarding scabs: Only today, I am seeing some white discoloration on my scalp. Am assuming this is the scabs beginning to form. Dont most people lose their scabs by now ? Since its kinda late for me, could it mean that only now the healing is beginning. Also, should I start using finger tips & start getting them out or could I let them fall on their own ? Also, thnkx everyone for ur advise on staple removal. 3 more days to go, can't wait !! Will post pics on day #10 after removal... |

Vik0809,
Welcome to our forum community. Without pictures it would be difficult to tell however, can you describe what you mean by "white discoloration"? Is it raised or pigment on the scalp? In looking at your pictures on your hair loss blog even a day after surgery, it looks very clean. Therefore, I'm thinking what you could be seeing now is dead dry skin that is typical even after the scabs are gone. I hope you'll keep us posted on your progress. Hey vik
This is me 10 days post op , scabs , some brown , some white , just keep washing your scalp , recipient and donor gently with a small amount of shampoo , your doc should have given you some instruction . Even with regular washing some scabs may remain for weeks yet so try not to worry , maybe you could post some pics like falc suggested to show us what you mean . hope that helps richie 2100 crown garfts Dr Feller nov 2007 2100 crown grafts Dr Feller nov 2007 |

not exactly white disclrtn. few mins after a shower there is minimal white flake like on the scalp skin, which is probably dryness..
scalp appears pretty clean otherwise..what i am curious about is, should'nt there be signs of scab formation in a week ? i've been washing my hair daily with a baby shampoo & gently dabbing with a towel & not touching the graft area !! i've attached the link with updated pics... http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/blog/home-page.asp?WebID=653 thankx !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I'd be leaving it alone myself. It looks great, you're not itching, so I wouldn't worry to much about the white stuff for a few more weeks.
