I have been quietly roaming this site for a while now and finally made the decision to take the plunge. After doing a lot of research I picked one of the recommended docs in the forum, however a strange think happened during my procedure. I was given a intravenous sedative and feel asleep for the first part of the procedure. After I came around I noticed that the tech was counting the number of incisions for the Dr.. Here is the strange part, I was scheduled to have 1500 grafts but the tech stopped counting after 500. I questioned my Dr. and he assured me that I was receiving at least 1500 grafts and must be confused.
I know this might be a bit tough but can anyone let me know approximately how many grafts I received by looking at my pics.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Difficult to say because from the photo it is hard to estimate size of recipient area but I would guess that it is probably 1500 or so.

Hi Hair

Well, I would say if you used a coalition doc , you should be fine. Never heard of an intravenous sedative though.. Who was the doc?

Hairanonymous,

Since I don't think I'd actually be able to count all the little dots on your head, I couldn't give you an exact number...but truthfully, it does appear more like 1500 than 500. 1500 grafts in such a large balding area isn't really that many. To give you a good comparison, check out the link below to my first surgery. I received 1600 grafts all over my head...about 800 in the back. I know it's not quite comparing apples to apples, but I'd say the numbers between my first surgery and your surgery are close and I KNOW I received 1600 grafts Wink.

Who was your doctor?

Falc
