Just a quick question. Once the transplanted hair does begin to grow, does it grow at the same rate as the non-transplanted hair or does that take longer?

When the grafts first start to grow they are much like that of a baby's, fine and light in color. Shortly thereafter they will transform into typical terminal hair (normal quality) and grow at the same rate as before.

I agree with Dr. Limmer in that once the transplanted hairs start to grow (3-5 months) the rate will be the same as the original hairs. Keep in mind that often in the first growth cycle of a transplanted follicile the hair will be more stiff and brittle. However, over time and repeated growth cycles the hairs usually return to normal texture.
