I got a note from my Dr. this week asking if I would like a follow-up appointment to check things out, etc. At the recommended date, I'll be at about 5-months post op and I'm wondering what everyones thoughts are on this visit.

Would you take a day off to go do this. I can drive there and back in a day, but it would take about all day as it's 300 miles one-way. If I think everything's good, would this visit still benefit me?

I must admit I'd like to, if for nothing else but to get some good 'after' pics in in the same environment. But otherwise, I don't much like to take off from work (it interferes with my posting... Wink), and I think everything's progressing normally.

Would you / did you go back for a follow-up?

Dewayne,

I think follow-ups are a great idea, but you will ultimately have to determine how often you want to travel far to meet with your surgeon. But since you seem to want to, I'd say do it Smile

Best wishes,

Falc

I'd go for it, unless making the haul would make a legit impact in your work regime; but, I think I'd (ideally) wait till I was closer to 6 months.

Maybe make a cool road trip out of it and figure out something interesting to check out in Cooley's area....?

Its a long way to go especially if you have no concerns at this early stage. I would hold off and go at 8 months when the journey will be a little more warranted.

If you are happy with everything then a phone chat will help if needed. 600 miles - that would cost us UK guys about £150 ($300) in gas. Cheaper to buy a camera and send pics to the doc mate Wink

Dewayne,

At $4 a gallon for gas it may cost you just as much to go for a follow up as it did to have the surgery. LOL Razz

I would agree with most, no concerns no worries no need. The one year follow up is a whole different thing....
