I just posted this info but i think its important to understand that the newly transplanted grafts shed (the majority anyway). These will shed approx around 2/3/4 weeks post op.

Note it's at this point IMO that the growth clock can actaully start as the shedding grafts then go into their resting phase of 3/4 months before the initail growth /sprouting occurs.

Therefore the sooner your grafts shed then sooner the growth will start!

This doesn't mean you want to rush the initial shed - as you need to respect the HT and let nature takes its course but worth knowing; hense why some guys start sprouting sooner than others do IMO.

All good - Grow well everyone!! Smile

I was wondering about this. I might be a good candidate to test out your theory Spex. I didn't lose many transplants until about week 8. If your theory is correct, then this means I'm going to be lagging way behind all the folks who had major shedding earlier.

I'm sure you'll understand if I hope your theory is wrong Wink. Either case, I'll let you guys know when I start sprouting.

it's so hard to tell when they shed exactly?? This is why I never understood using Minoxidil after surgery . They are only going to fall our anyway

Most of mine have shed around weeks 4-5, and I'm in week 8 now. So if I don't see much growth in a month, your theory will be proven correct Wink

Thanks for the info Spex,

makes me feel better knowing that technically I am in my 3rd month and not my 4th. It's kind of like trying to pinpoint how many weeks pregnant are you. Wink

In the end we will all eventually give birth.

I lost all of the transplanted hair within 12 days. I experienced strong new growth around day 75, sooo.... more evidence for the theory?

Speaking of growth rates... I could swear I'm starting to grow hair and I'm not even at 2 months yet. Is that weird?

The past week especially I've noticed a bunch of little transparent hairs sprouting all over the recipient area, where there was nothing before. I was totally not expecting *anything* for at least another month, so I'm quite surprised.

There's also been itching in the recipient area the past week or so. Does that mean new hair's trying to punch through?

I shed most of my HT hairs during weeks 3-4. I noticed the same transparent hairs YG did at about week 8. Now week 12 has come and gone (into week 13) and those same transparent hairs are longer, but yet to pick up much color.

Guys,
At the end of the day we all grow at different rates - some sprout sooner than others. Some pop at 2 months some at 4/5 - I suppose at the end of the day mother nature is the one in control but by taking MSM and applying solutions such as Minox we can help her a little. I have played the waiting game more than most - 7 years to get from where i was to where i am now Eek You guys are more fortunate that you just have to wait several months Wink

Be patient and grow well all !!!!!

Spex,

From everything that I have seen, I would have to say that your theory is a pretty good one.

That would mean that native hair that was lost to shockloss would probably follow the same schedule assuming that it was hair that was intending to come back and not die soon.

I wonder if it has anything to do with age - as in, a 30yr old will heal faster than a 45yr old? Probably not but who knows, it does merit some looking into.
