On some parts is sticks kinda straight up and it's not as soft as the native hair.

John, without knowing how long your new growth is, I would think as it gets longer it wil calm down some. Use a good conditioner and keep your fingers out of light sockets!

and don't rub your feet on carpeting
Seriously now, newer HT hair will grow a bit like pubic hair, with kinks and unruly... It takes from 1 to 3 years befores it behaves like native hair. |

John_NC,
HK500 is right. It takes time...after a year it should start becoming more easy to manage...but it could definitely take longer since some state that FULL maturation process isn't until 1.5 years. Good Advice All--- I think the overall consensus is that during months 12-18 we all should see a "softening" of our transplanted hair.
I think this process continues for 24 and possibly 36 months, in which case your hair will simply continue to mature and take on the characteristics of your normal "top of the dome" hair. I know that I shaved down my transplanted hair for HT#2 and as it has started to grow out a bit (HT#1), at 17 months it feels and looks much softer than at 1 year. Time will certainly solve this issue for you buddy!!!!!! Cheerio!!!! |
