I know it varies from person to person and the hair can still be wirey, but generally speaking, what % of density would you say one has at 5 months, 6 months?
After a year with what I have been reading it's essentially 100%. |

It would be nice to have the full results of HT surgery at 5 to 6 months. It really takes a good year (give or take a month) to get the final results. I believe it does vary from person to person, however, you're generally at about 50% to 60% at 6 months.

From everything that I have read you are about right. Typically though it can actually take a little longer to get to 100%.

I agree with the percentages you are being told. Additionally, in the 8-12 month period, your hair grows thicker ( therefore it looks like a fuller head of hair) and it relaxes to become more managable. Cheers S-n-P

well, thank you.
Frankly, if all I see is 60% I will be even happier soon. Now I do notice some new grafts sprouting (by mostly feeling the pointy, smaller, hairs) near the 6 month period so I'll take those and the thickening I noticed, as many others have, that the left side is slower in growing, but it's still in decent shape so waiting is not as bad as the initial 3-4 month period in the begining. I will wait and plan another 500-700 graft push to further refine the hairline /maybe lower it by 2-3 mm and put a bit more on my temples. I hope to be set for a few decades after that. |

Sounds like a plan John, I think the temples can really give that fnished look and are paramount to anyones overall plan if they have receded. I also think you get a big bang for the graft in those spots, a couple hundred grafts may be all it takes.

John,
I agree with the percentages Janna is giving you, however, full density of the hair transplant can continue after a year. At one year, I admit, you should have the majority, but after a few growth cycles, the hair shafts can still thicken giving you a fuller look another 6 months to year after the first year. Thanks.
I will do so. It will still look like I am aging, but very little. With this, the my entire hairline will have been replaced and gone as deep as the patern seemed to be. I have looked at my family history, thinning and I am happy. Plus, donor hair is not issue, if push came to shove, I know I would the one to get well over 10k in grafts via strip.

I agree JB, I think most of us see an explosion around month 6, but that 8-10 month mark adds that 20%-30% that really pushes the HT up a bit.
I have to say that I continued to sprout all the way up to 10-11 months, but it seemed that my hair became much softer and began to take on the waviness of my natural scalp hair. I think many forget that part of the transformation is the continual refinement of the hair itself over a 1-2 year period. Good Information!!!!!
