Hi all,
I am also a sufferer of the hair loss like most of us. I was just wondering about the price of the surgery. Yah I know it depends on the amount of loss and other information but any range would really help me to decide how I can plan out for it.
Thanks

Hi Pedant,

Welcome to our forum community.

Because physician selection is vital to ensuring you will receive state of the art hair transplantation, it is important to choose wisely.

Hair transplant costs are dependent on a number of things including the number of grafts you require to meet your hair restoration goals, the cost the clinic charges per follicular unit graft, and the type of surgery you are undergoing (follicular unit hair transplantation - FUT or follicular unit extraction - FUE). Click here to learn more about hair transplant costs.

The average price per follicular unit graft appears to be around $4 or $5 per follicular unit graft and is often discounted for larger sessions.

As a point in reference, I was almost completely bald (a level 5A/6 on the norwood scale), and received 7550 grafts restoring a lot of my hair. I paid almost $30,000.

Keep in mind that many patients don't need as many grafts as I did however, clearly it is not cheap, but an investment that you will have to decide whether or not if it's worth it.

In my case, I decided that since the average American buys a new car every 5 years at about $30,000, that if I keep my current car for 10 years, I haven't spent anymore than the average American. In my opinion, hair transplantation was one of the best decisions I've made because it helped restore a lot of confidence.

Good luck in your research.

I hope this helps,

Falc
