I am a 28 yr old female who was involved in a MVC and suffered from complex lacerations to the scalp. My scalp was peeled back in many areas exposing my skull. It was sewn up like patchwork. There is hair regrowing everywhere in areas(even in the most severely skinned areas), but there are bald spots. It looks like there are follicles that still haven't produced. One bald area is in the crown and almost an egg shape, it has a few tufts of thin hairs coming out of it in areas. It has been 8 weeks since the accident. I have been given advice about going to a PC, dermatologist, and hair replacement surgeon. I am worried I may need a transplant. Does anyone have any reccomendations on the type of Dr. I should choose and if hair transplantation works on scarred areas. I need a good Dr. in GA. Please help ......

I would recommend waiting an additional 2-3 months before trying to decide how to proceed, as additional growth would be common after this type of accident. Grafts usually grow quite well in scar tissue.
