Hello All
I am new in this forum and feel glad i joined it. It has educated me a lot. I am 26 years old and noticing Bald Patch. Before I ignored it, but now lot people are noticing it and its making me paranoid. I am very upset and lost all my confident. I can do anything to get around this problem and thinking of HT. I am based in U.K and not sure if there are good place to do this. Also not sure if its good idea. Lot people talking about Propecia and i did online research on it. They say its good but than worried about shading and side affects. Will it really help or not. If I buy Propecia online, what should I keep in mind and also just taking propecia is enough or need something else. I am attaching few pic to give you idea of my case. I will appreciate your help and advice. 01032007066.jpg (18 Kb, 81 downloads) |

Restoria,
Welcome to the forums. You've come to the right place for research and hopefully we can help you in that. Researching propecia is a good start...but I wouldn't buy it online. Honestly, your best strategy would be to get a prescription for Proscar which is 5mg of finasteride as opposed to Propecia which is 1mg of finasteride. Take 1/4 pill of Proscar daily (you will have to buy a pill splitter - they are about $2 U.S.). I'm not sure how medicine works in the U.K - maybe Spex or someone else can help out here, but ultimately, it should save you money and it's the same thing as taking Propecia. There are potential sexual side effects with finasteride where arrousal may be lessened, however, stopping the medication will reverse the side effects. Because hairloss is a progressive "disease", you will most likely continue to lose hair. This is why it's IMPORTANT that you try to stop the hairloss in it's tracks with medicine like finasteride. You can also consider trying Minoxodil (Rogaine Foam I hear is better) if you don't mind a messy regime. But be aware that if you stop either of these medications, you will continue losing hair and lose anything you regained. So getting on the medication ends up being a lifelong commitment if it works. Keep in mind too that very few people regrow hair with finasteride, but many keep their existing hair. So it's difficult to know whether or not the medicine is really working. That being said...I see it this way: if you don't lose anymore hair, it's working. It would be best to take finasteride for at least a year before considering an HT. Take quarterly photos to see if it's working for you. Also note that shedding in the first 3 months is possible when you start the medication. The shedded hair will grow back thicker and fuller. Summary: Don't get an HT yet...get on finasteride for at least a year and re-evaluate your situation then. Additionally, spend time here and research everything you can about hair transplants and medication. I hope this helps. Falceros,
Thank you for replying. I had look on u.k websites and propecia is very expensive compared to U.S. I Did online medical consultation and they suggest me taking Propecia 1Mg. Now I am confused wheather to take 1mg Propecia or 5mg Proscar. Another option of getting Minoxodil, well i wouldnt mind even though I dont like the idea of messy regime if its really going to help. I have seen online medical store http://www.aclepsa.com/proscar.shtml selling propecia 180 pill for $103. I have placed an order and they say I should receive in 5 working days. I did this before reading your reply. Should I cancell the order or what? Thanking you |

Restoria,
You still want to take 1mg of finasteride...if you use Proscar, you have to split the tablet into quarters with a pill splitter. 1/4 Proscar = 1 Propecia: Make sense? Personally, I wouldn't trust buying Propecia online...but I don't know much about UK pharmacies. Do you need a doctor's prescription to buy Propecia in the UK? Restoria,
Falceros has given you good advice. Get a prescription for Finasteride (Propecia = 1mg pill, Proscar = 5mg pill), start the process and wait a year to see what results you have. Proscar is much cheaper, you just buy a pill cutter and cut it into fourths. Minoxidil can help you as well but as Falc mentioned, the regimen is messy. With either Finasteride or Minoxidil, be sure you commit to consistently using them. Any positive results will go away quickly if you stop their use. I also side with Falc on ordering meds, I wouldn't do it unless there is a way you can be certain of what you're buying. Restoria,
Obviously a little too late as you stated that you already placed an order, but in the future I would be a little concerned about ordering meds online. You have to worry about what it is you are getting. Fake meds is a multi-million dollar business. Keep your fingers crossed. |

Thank you all for your advice.
The place is ordered medication from is based in U.S and their website is http://www.aclepsa.com/proscar.shtml. I phoned them up and they said its well know. does anyone in U.S heard about. I would buy the medication from here(U.K) but its not avialable on any pharmancy. There's only few place and their prices are sky high. So I dint had much choice. However I will cosult with my local pharmacist when i receive my order. So I am going to use only propecia, I hope that will be ok. Do i have to use anything else along with propecia. i read few people talking about shampoo or any other hair product. I dont like the idea of using Minoxidile. Thanking you all once again. |

Restoria,
You've already placed an order...so I'm not sure what else to say. How do you know you are really buying Propecia? Every place will tell you they are well known and legit if you ask them...doesn't mean they are. Don't believe everything you here. Think of it this way...why in the world would Propecia pricing be pretty consistent everywhere but a few places you can get it ultra cheap? It MIGHT not be Propecia. You could be taking a sugar pill for all you know and you'll lose more hair. My advice...RE-READ all the posts on this thread. I and others have already advised you to get Proscar which will save you the money you need...AND it's LEGIT. But it's your choice. I looked at their website
1-They sell Generic Propecia for a fairly high price compared to what I have seen before. 2-Generic Propecia is not available in the US, I called my 2 local pharmacies, they confirmed this. They must get it from abroad or it's bogus, or ???? 3-Too many drug scams on the web, I would never buy online unless I were 100% sure of my source. Sorry to be so blunt but I am afraid that's the reality |
