I bought the Hairmax lasercomb before my HT. Stopped using it because I didn't think it was working for me.

Since then I had 2 HT's - the last about a year ago. I'm happy with the results. My hair looks natural but but not thick - the transplants certainly helped prevent getting to the point of having only side and back hair with a shiny top.

After I saw the Feb 2007 FDA Clearance as a medical device (2 weeks ago) I started using it again. I don't know if it is my imagination or if it seems that I can see more scalp.


I see discussions about shedding after beginning laser comb treatments for natural hair. I haven't noticed any shedding (hairs in the sink, etc) but I'mbut still I'm concerned about damaging my transplanted hair.

After treatment for 15-20 minutes x 3 times/wk (6 times now) my scalp feels hot - and maybe even a little burned.

Specifically -
1) would one expect or suspect a different reaction from transplanted hairs to naturally positioned hairs? Could I be doing damage? FDA approval if anything means no harm done, but is this for general health or would harm include follicular damage?

2) I don't expect to have a higher haircount in the transplanted regions, but the studies talk about thicker hairs as well. The scalp types and the hairloss extents seems pretty specific in the claims. How would the specific claims relate to transplanted hairs?

3) I'm hoping to prevent/ minimize further loss around the perimeter of the HT.

Comments? Should I have any concern (especially about the mild burning sensation)? Do the objectives make sense relative to demonstrated claims?
