Hi Guys,

Most of you know my history, moderate HT two years ago, decent (not great results). Been on propecia and rogaine 5% (over ten years), switched to Rogaine Foam in January now I am shedding like crazy (thinning out)...

Any thoughts, I'm starting to obsess...thanks.

hairhope,

How often are you using Propecia? Every day? Every other day? You could consider switching to dudasteride if you feel every day propecia isn't working anymore for you...but you should consult with a doctor first before you do. Unfortunately, we've all been there bro...and most of us still are there....including me....the obsession part that is. Losing hair sucks...no other way to put it...it makes us feel miserable. But you can only do so much to control it. Consider adding Nizoral into the mix to see if that doesn't help, however, if you continue to lose hair, you may want to consider getting another HT...but I'd wait until the next time your hairloss is under control - as in, it slows down, etc. Do you have any pictures of the way your hair looks right now?

Falc

Hi Falc,

Thanks for your thoughtful reply. I am taking the propecia every day 1mg, I was totally stable until I switched to the rogaine foam, now it seems I am in a shed?

Would this simply suggest I am responding? With regards to pics, no way I would take a pic when I am shedding that would only make me think about it more.

I agree ultimately on HT#2.
Thanks.

Ah....well it's possible that you are responding positively to the foam and shedding is just a temporary thing. How long ago did you switch to the foam? Perhaps you have your answer. If you switched to the foam in the last 4 months or so, I'd give it time to stabilize. Any hair that sheds should grow back thicker and stronger, if it indeed is from a positive response from the foam. Hopefully that is what it is.
